Patrick Sweany is probably best known for his memorable performances at some of the country's premier blues and roots festivals over the years. His new CD C'Mon C'Mere captures the vibrant live sound he's developed through nearly 150 shows a year. Recorded with virtually no overdubs in parts by folk-blues guru Jimbo Mathus (Elvis Costello, Buddy Guy) and Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys, C'Mon C'Mere showcases the band's versatility, from blues-punk stomps (Stark County), to plaintive Hill Country ballads (Waterfall, One More Time). Patrick's trademark guitar style is on display here too, but never overpowers his gorgeous songs. Like his contemporaries Alvin Youngblood Hart, or the late Chris Whitley, Patrick isn't content rehashing 70-year old licks. He's looking for a new route...while taking some old roads to get there.
